This day-long workshop is designed to give farmers and growers practical tools to extend their growing season and explore innovative production systems. The program brings together research-based insights, technical expertise, and hands-on demonstration.
Participants will learn from Cornell specialists and NRCS staff about high tunnels systems, feasibility and cost analysis, and the benefits deep water culture hydroponics. Local farmers will share their real-world experiences with high tunnel production and crop management at Ryder Farm by RE Endeavors, followed by an on-farm tour at Pleasant View Farm to explore deep water culture hydroponics and greenhouse systems. Attendees will gain hands-on experience with setting up an ebb-and-flow grow table to reduce labor and improve watering consistency.
