Establishing Silvopasture: Roots of Resilience

  • Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Join us for a guided field walk at Little Cabin's Farm, exploring core silvopasture principles, including site assessment, design, species selection and grazing management. As the farm is in the early stages of transitioning, this is a great opportunity to gain practical insight into how to get started. We’ll cover steps for transitioning woods or pasture into productive, animal-friendly systems, with a focus on soil health, biodiversity and long-term viability.

Prior to the farm walk, CCE Ulster Livestock Educator Kathryn Brignac will share insights on grazing and animal management. Donald Arrant of Watershed Agricultural Council will discuss the farm’s Whole Farm Plan and Eli Roberts of Sunfleck Consulting will discuss how silvopasture can reshape conventional ideas of a productive landscape.

There will be time for Q&A and farmer discussion during the event.
