Tailored for new farmers, small berry producers, and part-time growers, this session focuses on best management practices taught by Eastern New York Commercial Horticulture Small Fruit and Vegetable Specialist Laura McDermott. Delve into fruits—blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries—while gaining insights into site and plant selection, pruning techniques, weed control, fertility management, and labor-saving methodologies.

Speaker Background Laura McDermott is a Sr. Extension Associate with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Eastern NY Commercial Horticulture program where she serves as a team leader and small fruit specialist. Laura has years of experience troubleshooting commercial fruit and vegetable production problems and has worked with many new growers as they establish their farms.
Program Fee: Sliding Scale ticketing for this event. $10 will cover the cost of staff time and operating fees, $15 will cover the cost of staff time and operating fees PLUS help subsidize a ticket for someone else who can't afford a full ticket, and $5 ticket cost for resource-limited individuals. - SELECT ONLY ONE BELOW
