Join the Cornell Cooperative Extension to learn about beneficial insects! This 45-minute presentation provides an explanation of bees (native vs. honey) and how they live, addresses bee stings, and features specific solitary bees (mason bees, grass-carrying bees and others) who live in hollow tubes and stems. In addition to providing bee houses, there are many other ways in which we can help our native bees to survive the many threats to their livelihood. The talk will be followed by a 45-minute hands-on Bee House workshop, where participants will go home with their own nesting place for solitary bees and ideas for providing additional habitat.
This program is family friendly and open to all ages, please register each attendee individually.
