  • HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program): The Home Energy Assistance Program provides various utility assistance benefits, including regular utility assistance, emergency assistance, heating equipment repair or replacement, cleaning and tuning, or cooling services.   • Weatherization Assistance Program: The Weatherization Assistance Program offers services to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility costs for households. For assistance, contact WestCOP, Jessica Arciola, at 914-375-7887 or via email at jarciola@westcop.org.
  • AHC Flood Assistance Program: The AHC Flood Assistance Program provides aid to households affected by flooding, offering up to $50,000 for eligible households to make their homes safe, sanitary, and functional. Reach out to Putnam County Housing Corporation, Denene Makkay, at 845-225-8493 ext. 211 for assistance.
  • AHC Home Improvement Grant: The AHC Home Improvement Grant provides financial assistance of up to $40,000 per household for essential home improvements focused on health and safety. Contact Putnam County Housing Corporation at 845-225-8493 for more details.
  • Empower+: Empower+ is a program that offers a comprehensive home energy assessment and funding for direct install of energy efficiency improvements For further information or updates, contact Amanda Catale at 845-278-6738 ext. 217. 

Technology

Internet & Technology Discount If you receive Medicare, SNAP benefits, or other assistance services, you are eligible for the the Affordable Connectivity Program. The Affordable Connectivity Program is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. This new benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
