Welcome to the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County and Meals on Main Street's new initiative to bring fresh, locally grown food directly to our community!
Our involvement in the Food Truck ends August 31st. If you have any questions about the schedule or late arrivals, contact Meals on Main Street directly at (914) 451-7140.
Cornell Cooperative Extension’s involvement is ending because funding from New York State Agriculture and Markets was not renewed. If you would like to help advocate for the program’s return, you may consider reaching out to your local senator. Expressing your support could encourage them to request that funding opportunities be made available again.
Our new program focuses on purchasing $1.3 million worth of locally grown products, including meats, eggs, and culturally relevant produce, all sourced from nearby farms. These high-quality, nutritious foods will be distributed throughout Putnam, Westchester, and Dutchess counties, with regular stops made by our mobile food truck. This initiative aims to make fresh, healthy food accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation, while supporting our local farmers and strengthening the community food system.
Special thanks to Meals on Main Street (MOMS) for their invaluable partnership in distributing all the food and to our local farms, including Long Haul Farm, Dykeman Farm, and Grandpa Farm, for supplying the amazing produce, meats, and eggs for all to enjoy!
